Red Sands is a 60MW AC/78 MW DC solar project with a 40MW AC / 160 MWh BESS located on approximately 500 acres of land in Navajo County.
The owner plans to interconnect to the Winslow – Blue Ridge 69kV transmission line which is located next to the project property at Latitude 34.988378, Longitude -110.702431 near State Highway 87, south of Winslow, Arizona. The owner is expecting to begin construction in 2026 with a Commercial Operation Date of April 2028.
The Respondent’s permitting components include an SUP, local building and grading permits, several state permits, which are mostly administrative/ministerial in nature. The project is in a County with no nonattainment areas currently. Dust mitigation during construction is recommended for compliance. Based on aerial imagery and publicly available databases, the project site does not appear to contain federally jurisdictional waters.
Atlas is delivering a project that has a secure path to development, construction, and operations in a timely manner. As with all projects developed, owned, and operated by Red Sands, this project will be safely and reliably operated in accordance with an Operations and Maintenance Services Agreement. The project facility will be staffed and equipped to support normal operations and routine preventative and corrective maintenance.
The staffing model will include O&M Managers, Site Operators and Project Coordinators who will report to a qualified Regional Manager. The project’s equipment is to always be operated per the operating procedures, which are based on the vendor’s recommendations, accepted industry practice and validated experience of team members.
